Cor : One of the best live bands of the moment, Imperial State Electric, has finally released a live album! I personally dig everything made by Nicke Andersson (Entombed, Hellacopters, Solution) very much, whether it is as musician or producer, this workaholic always delivers high quality in my opinion. Still, the man is at his best performing live. Together with Dolf de Borst (Datsuns), Tobias Egge and Thomas Eriksson he brought a bunch of on-stage rock ‘n’ roll animals together, bringing top-notch musical performance, presented with drive and passion. When you’ve seen these guys live, this album brings back memories of great times, and when you’ve never seen them yet, listening will convince you there’s something on your to-do list. A representable part of the repertoire is brought, with the accent towards the energetic driving rockers of course, but also mention those great solo’s and teamwork of a band truly enjoying the stage. I read somewhere this album deserving to be placed in the line with ‘Alive’ (Kiss), ‘It’s Alive’(The Ramones) and ‘No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith’ (Motörhead); I totally agree.
