Erik M. : Khiral's story began in 2008, but it took no less than ten years for this debut to be released. In 2016 this Finnish death/thrash band released two singles and played a handful of gigs. Now this dime can fall to sides: or we get an ultimate masterpiece of extremely high level, or we get a release where the slow start of the band and lack of inspiration dominates this eventual outcome. In this case, fortunately for the band, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. In terms of originality and overall impression of the songs the band scores low. Their material offers little surprises and at times sounds even outdated. This does not have to be a problem for the no-so-critical listener however, for musicwise and vocally Khiral do an acceptable job on ‘Chained’. If you are into oldschool death/thrash metal you might find this album quite amusing.
