Erik M. : Jeez, what a potpourri of musical emotion as Death On Fire start on their third album, with painfully meaningless guitar riffs and cringing singing. This melodic death metal band does their best to play some convincing songs but alas drown in the chaos they create. Something that does not contribute to the overall listening pleasure. The one thing that draws my constant attention however are the vocals. A hoarse deathgrunt that even manages to sound false. The music that’s being played sounds altogether right-out messy and never even comes close to the kind of quality that is mandatory these days if you really want to compete in this genre of metal. I am sorry, but 2018 starts off with bad marks for Death On Fire. A band without a heading.
