Cor : Founder Fillipa Nassil has formed a complete new band in no-time, and comes up with a new album. Given the title ‘Thundermother’ one could expect this album to be a debut, but this one is already the third album by the pretty successful Swedish all female rock band. Fillipa is once more playing the guitar very skillfully and with true fire; catchy riffs and sparkling solo’s. This fresh bunch have succeeded to bring a worthy successor of the well-received previous material. The vocals can make listeners think of links in the direction of for example Beth Hart or Sass Jordan, but in this case slightly heavier with a more AC/DC-like bite. The new singer may not be as hoarse as her predecessor Clare Cunningham, but a reference to earlier mentioned Beth Hart or Sass Jordan can still be made. The AC/DC groove in combination with tasteful and powerful female vocals, thundering guitars and a bit of a poppy layer; the whole picture is a very well succeeded mix once more.
