Koen W. : Is there still life after beer? Yes of course. Also for owner de Nelle from pub 'Het Verdriet' in Zele (Belgium). If he is not behind the bar, he is playing music. That is how Cosmodog came about. The band started writing and came up with the single 'Bank'. There is even a real music video for it. Now the EP '34' appears with four tracks on it including 'Bank'. Musically they can best be described as a combination from Front 242 with Rammstein. The vocals have a Belgian accent, making the similarity with Front 242 even more significant. The single 'Bank' deals textually about a bank robbery and listens smoothly. Actually I am mainly blown away by the next song 'Ditch'. There is a stronger riff in there, it sounds a bit darker and with the techno beat it becomes even danceable. 'Code Of Silence' has a stirring start and looks fairly firm. With only fourteen minutes this disc is not very long, but nevertheless Cosmodog shows that they are a band to keep an eye on. They know how to write a song. Personally, I would emphasize even stronger metal riffs and harder pounding techno beats. Now it sounds a bit average but if they put some punch in it, Cosmodog will certainly stand out in the crowd.
