Koen B. : About two years ago, Germany’s Dark Zodiak self-released their first full-length effort ‘See You In Hell’, which was a quite good effort if it was up to me. Now the band breaks the silence with their newest opus ‘Landscapes Of Our Soul’. I think this one is a self-releaser as well, but who needs a label when you are able to create your own artwork, produce your own music, book your own shows and distribute your own self released CD’s?
‘Landscapes Of Our Soul’ continues where ‘See You In Hell’ ended: mid-paced high qualitatively death metal with guttural female vocals in the vein of Acrostichon and Izegrim. Dark Zodiak are too damn underground to reach a large audience, but I don’t think Simone Schwarz (vocals), Dieter Schwarz (drums), Charly Gak (guitars), Patrick Schumacher (guitars) and Sebastian Rosa (bass) really care. They are just doing what they are good at and they are happy with what they are enjoying to do (or something like that). Jetzt geht es los mit ‘L.O.O.S.’!
