Sjoerd : Swedish Urban Tale started off as band which played Journey covers. It turned out that they liked playing together so much that they decided to record a CD with their own material. The result of this is "Urban Tale' and to make one thing clear: The result is great!!!!!. It's very obvious that they are AOR and more specific Journey fans but they don't (thank God) sound exactly the same. All songs stand like a rock, the lyrics are kept simple as they should be in this kinda music, just like on Journey's "Escape". Can "Urban Tale" be compared with "Escape"? I think so, it's a mix of very good ballads and up-tempo songs off the same level of "Escape". That Steve Perry isn't an Urban Tale member is no problem at all, because singer Kimmo Blom sings more than good, besides that the musical performance by Erkka Korhonen on guitars, Tuomo Kovalainen on bass, Timo Pudas on keyboards and Kari Valimaki on drums is of a very high standard. "Urban Tales" can become a real classic album in the AOR scene, that's clear after listening several times.
