Koen B. : After the great 2007 ’Orthodoxyn’ album, Arkhon Infaustus faded away like a thin vapour in the wind. Now the French band returns with a four track EP (‘Passing The Nekromanteion’), a new record label (Les Acteurs De L’Ombre Productions) and a new line-up (which holds original vocalist / guitarist D.K. Deviant and Skvm on drums. You might know the latter from Temple Of Baal and The Order Of Apollyon among others). This one is available on CD, gatefold EP and vinyl box set, so better beware which one you want to buy.
Arkhon Infaustus’ music has never been easy to predict and ‘Passing The Nekromanteion’ is no exception on that. It takes a few spins before the four tracks (playing time about 33 minutes) dig their claws into you and take you on a soundscape journey of total black metal misanthropia, but the investment pays off. This EP puts Arkhon Infaustus back on the map instantly. I hope a full length is on its way soon.
