Erik M. : The Spanish band was Bloodhunter formed in 2008 and now bring us their second full length release with ‘End Of Faith’. The opener ‘The Forbidden Zone’ makes clear what to expect from Bloodhunter. The “open” mix offer plenty room for the technical influenced death metal. The female fronted contribution by Diva Satanica reminds of the vocal range and style of Angela Gossow (ex-Arch Enemy) or, for example, Marloes from Izegrim. The functional high paced tempos turn regularly into a groovy, melodic wave. The comparison with Arch Enemy’s former singer can also be used to describe the music Bloodhunter provides. Music wise this band delivers, supported by a great production, thumbs up! Outstanding performances by guitarist, Fenris and drummer Marcelo Aires, both top musicians and fit for the job! On the final tune the Arch Enemy feel is put aside for a moment. Death’s ‘Crystal Mountain’ is closing off and performed in a decent way by Bloodhunter. A fresh sounding release in a saturated genre.
