Ramon : The Australian Mason was founded in 2009 and now releases its second album. And what to think of that? Picture very early thrash metal, with suiting vocals, but with a drummer and producer from this day and age. And in a way that is awesome beyond words, on the other hand it sort of exposes the shortcomings in the genre that e embraced at the time, but that seem a little obsolete with today’s knowledge. And I specifically aim at the old-fashioned vocal style they use. It will not found solid ground with modern day metal fans. But for forty plus fans, who can probably look through that more easily, they are excellent musicians, very enthusiastic and energetic and the more I get tot hink of it, the more I realize I should let go of any remarks. All you have to do is enjoy this dirty denim thrash metal as it is presented here. And that is exactly what I am going to do, as in the core this is nothing but cool. The remarks are real, but irrelevant, fat thrash is always good and it does not get much fatter than this. I don’t mind a little cliché every now and then. And don’t forget to scream along, those moments you bother no one with it.
