Koen W. : This Finnish thrash metal band was founded in 2005. Soon they released a demo with three songs. Unfortunately after two years the band was already dissolved. Until in 2012 when they came back together. Well, the name Brainthrash came back into use. The only person I can say with certainty that was part of the original crew is Kamikazernobyl or Kami Launonen. From 2005 to 2007 he was registered as a drummer. Now he takes care of the vocals and just did the drums on the album. With 'Mental Combat' they released another EP in 2012 with three songs. Finally their debut album 'Brain Rangers' is now appearing.
Like their EP and demo, the album is a self-release. Now, there are a lot of thrash albums from bands who have a record label and that performs a lot worse like these Finns. The music they make sounds quite impressive and seamlessly joins with authentic Bay Area thrash metal. Sharp riffs and solid drumming. Kami's singing capabilities are excellent. With each song you'll hear the typical multi-voice hard chorus that adds an extra value. Before you know, you're starting to head bang (or are doing an attempt). The colleagues at work, will notice when you are listening with your earplugs. In addition, they make themselves even more positive by their sense of humor. The song ‘Major Mayhem’ is fully featured and is an anthem song for every thrash metal fan that goes well during performances. Fans of the better thrash work in the classic Bay Area performance, will find an excellent album with this piece of work.
