Marcel H. : ‘Prologue’ kicks off quite droney with ‘The Beginning The End The Colony’ and makes me fear to be dealing with a pure drone album. Luckily, for me, that is not the case. When the vocals kick in it shifts more towards post metal and slightly reminds me of Neurosis et. al. Follow up ‘Mother Mary Son Of Scorn’ is mostly acoustic and even reminds me of a mix of Pink Floyd and 16 Horsepowe. ‘Chainbreaker’ pummels you in a Neurosis like full sludgy post metal conviction. Closer ‘Omega’ once again drones and is also quite ambient with some acoustic stuff in it and evolves into post metal sludge. All in all a good varied album ‘Prologue’ by Poseidon from east London turned out to be.
