Bart D. : The Norwegian prog/RIO scene is a small scene, so if you've ever visited there, chances are you know some of the names involved in Suburban Savages. We won't go into that here, but head directly to the music on the mostly instrumental 'Kore Wa!'. There are three elements I'd like to address. One: the music rehashes a lot of what we already know. So there's nothing new and innovative here. Two: the music borders between bloody serious and silly. Silly only sometimes works here. Serious works most of the time, but tend to drag on a bit. Which brings me to three: despite its high production value, sometimes 'Kore Wa!' sounds too much like one-dimensional ideas stretched out too thin. The verdict: there is a lot of enjoyable prog out there. Still, do give this a spin. It might just be your cup of Norwegian tea. Special mention: the intriguing keyboard lines in 'Guzarondan'.
