Wim S. : Dobermann is a trio from Italy who will especially appeal to those of you who like it sweet and simple. Straightforward rock and roll. Simplicity and without doing anything fancy. 'Pure Breed' is the title of the album from these guys and we can enjoy pretty simple, accessible heavy rock. I immediately want to say that the guitar solos are of great class. Where Valerio Ricciardi fires one after another standard riff, his solos are flashy and inventive. Even primitive rockers like 'I Fucking Hate Drummers' (funny lyrics) or the cliché 'I Need A Holiday' still sound really amazing when he starts his solo. Best song is the up tempo, kind of Motörhead-like 'Stuck In Traffic'. There is really not much to say about this release. It is a good sounding album that will do well in music cafes, motorcycle club meetings and other parties. The band also plays as a supporting act for Phil Rudd (AC / DC), so that will give the gentlemen the necessary exposure. Well, I guess they deserve it. Well done boys, rock on.
