Pim B. : With ‘Dysangelium’ Ensnared shows they’re a band to reckon with. The Gothenburg based act have recorded an album (after their 2013 MCD ’Ravenous Damnation’s Dawn’) that shows not all Swedish bands sound like Entombed or Dismember clones. On ‘Dysangelium’ Ensnared present a form of death metal through six songs and five interludes that could be described as a mix of the earliest material of Morbid Angel and Dissection. And it is played with an aggression that reminds of the South-American scene in the 80s. Comparisons to contemporary acts can be made too and I think fans of bands like Degial and Vorum will appreciate Ensnared too. The band has delivered a fine album with vicious riffs and melodies packed in a production that represents the dark character of the compositions. Give the song ’Apostles Of Dismay’ a listen.
