Bart D. : Last year we had the pleasure of listening to a beautiful record by the band Diogenes from Chile. They now send us a 22 minutes long album of a parallel project called Zoom Abstraction. This album dates back to as far as 2006, but this should be a renewed version. And as you can see in the YouTube link, the 2006 edition was double as long. To keep it simple, I'll ignore the 2006 version on YouTube.
The audio quality here is indeed good, but it could have used some finishing touches to help the flow. As for the material: it is their beautiful blend all over again, but also audibly written in an earlier moment of their development. The music is more straight forward and less intricate. But it still ranges from instrumental progressive metal to atmospheric soundscapes with warm chants. There's a big chance you'll like this, but if you're unfamiliar with Diogenes, I highly recommend checking out that project first!
