Ruben : This is one of those bands who was clearly unhappy with the publicity they got back in 2015. Their two year old record, ‘Get Electrified!’, arrived from Cadiz, Spain, and the band thought it deserved another round of media attention. With a healthy mix of hardrock and a bit of bluesrock, The Electric Alley managed to produce a good record.
The opener on ‘Get Electric!’ doubles as the title track and is clearly putting off listeners. It’s clearly the lesser, and least original track on this entire album. Things only tend to get better and better from there. There’s country elements on ‘Searching For The Truth’, which gives their music a Black Stone Cherry feel. The slow ‘Can We Have Some Love Between Us?’ is carried by great clean vocals with a subtle raw edge. The Electric Alley is doing a lot good on their latest album. Despite the relatively easy comparisons to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Stone Cherry and Rival Sons, ‘Get Electric!’ is a nice hardrock album. No nonsense and loaded with energy, or as the band puts it, “rock and electricity”.
