Roel de Haan : The polish black metal horde of Furia is back with another full-length album called ‘Księżyc Milczy Luty’. Furia excels in combining an almost punk-like attitude with dark pagan folk influences in their particular black metal sounds. Slightly akin to Drudkh but definitely more in tune with modern times, Furia carefully tread on musical tightrope. ‘Księżyc Milczy Luty’ shows more introspective, almost jazzy parts then ever before and this is effectively contrasted by flurries of aggression. All the while Furia manages to create a melancholy undercurrent. ‘Księżyc Milczy Luty’ requires a dedicated listener or one might mistake it for being unhinged or pretentious. However, when you put in the effort, Furia shows once again that they are one of the better Polish black metal acts.
