William Pezy : The level of metal releases of Italian bands is quite variable. The best part of most releases are the marketing sheets provided. Some writers of these sheets seem to have lost all connection with reality. Some bands that hardly have outgrown the ‘Thursday-evening-hobby-band’ and are described as the new world standard. Sometimes these sheets seem to be a shitload of superlatives that are not able to create a readable sentence. The Foreshadowing have a sheet that does not make sense to me either. However the music does. It simple is an album filled with beautiful songs. No, they do not define a new world standard. Neither are they of the level of this mentioned ‘Thursday-evening-hobby-band’. They please us with nine very mature songs. Well written pearls that show very good song writing that deliver a distinctive album. Credits to the warm and beautiful voice of singer Marco, it is a pleasure to listen to him. Take a song like ‘Until We Fail’ where he shows a very high level of singing. For me this is the best song of the album. If you like Paradise Lost are Anathema, please take the time to listen to these guys.
