Berto : The French of War Inside claim they play music that is similar to Behemoth and Dissection. Well, that is quite a statement. Let me tell you right now that the band certainly is not (yet) at the level of the aforementioned bands. Musically, however, they move around in the same genre and they mix death metal with a touch of black metal. Well thought out written songs with a good mix of fast passages, and more moderate parts. The vocals of frontman Terreur sound excellent next to low-tuned guitars and sometimes distorted riffs.
The band's sound can be described as modern, dark and melodic. The songs are generally fast, but there are plenty of times where there the foot comes of the pedal and the dynamics are doing their job. In the songs the addictive riffs of the guitar tandem of Nicolas and Edouard jump out and they certainly leave their mark on the songs. That said, there are no real highlights to be found on this album, all the songs have the same high quality. War Inside have not added any new ingredients to the genre, but the execution is thick enough and by building up experience, the band can only write even better songs.
