Koen W. : For adoration for American rock you can be this time with the Swedish Violent Divine. The band dates back to 2005 and has released three albums in the past. In 2011 the band was slightly reanimated with some personnel changes to release their fourth album independently. Actually this is a bit surprising because the band sounds and rocks excellent. They have a fine vocalist with a warm and clear voice. The guitar licks sound excellent. Violent Divine has a very American sound. The numbers consist of a simple structure, sound catchy and are recognizable. Opener 'For I Am Sin' was released as single. It is a very exciting and upbeat song with chorus vocals continues to reverberate in the head. Along with the manicured video this song is a beautiful representation of the band. Most of the songs are of the same calibre. As long as they are up-tempo, the panache remains. Just ‘Drown ' and ' Heartbroken ' are some more ballads-like. The vocals here have a slightly nasal overtones and English pronunciation is what drowned out by a Swedish accent. Fortunately, this is only a fraction of this album with its fifty minutes long playing time. Mostly the album has become an album with fun and catchy songs where some numbers will get surely the necessary airplay on the better rock station.
