Pim B. : ‘Forged In Fury’ is the tenth record by Brazil’s Krisiun and it is an album that you need to adjust to. I guess most people expect aggressive and fast death metal from Krisiun. But that has changed slightly. I already wrote in my review on ’The Great Execution’ from 2011 that the songs are more varied and that the band doesn’t play everything in the highest gear anymore. That also goes for this new album, but that doesn’t mean the band has become soft. The superfast parts are not as prominent anymore and dosed in a different way. So, when I listen to ‘Forged In Fury’ I have to think of Vader a lot. The production on the previous album is awesome. Still the band decided to record with Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at Mana Studios. Rutan also delivered a great production. I also feel that Krisiun proves with ‘Forged In Fury’ they still belong to the top of the genre. I don’t think this is the strongest album in Krisiun’s discography because I feel it misses that vitriolic aggression.
