Wilco : From the beautiful Bavarian town of Burgthann (near Nuremberg) comes Azurica. Not a very apt band name, of course, because it suggests an Italian origin. Fortunately, that is not the case. ‘Warriors Don’t Die’ is the second record from this southern Germans and has six full-fledged death metal songs and lasts total of 35 minutes. The music of this demo appears to have been created about fifteen years ago; Göthenborg metal is what you get. Then you've come to the right place, because I actually like this kind of metal. The sound of the album is heavier and darker than we're used to in this genre. The sound of the album is perfectly fine anyway.
The music then. As said before, the Götheborg sound has been determined for the sound of this act. As result the influences from Iron Maiden are abundant. The first song, ‘Warriors Don’t Die’ does not shock the world, but has a nice chorus. In fact, the same applies to the subsequent songs. All of them decent death metal songs that do not really stand out, but because of the catchy chorus are not at all terrible to listen to. 'Chaos Black Sky’ is the best example, the chorus is really very strong, and wants to be listened to over and over again. This is a more than fair record, but not special enough to really stand out.
