Remie : Something I quite like is powerful grooving rock. The Finish band Polanski is a band which I can certainly give that description and with the new album ´Between This And Hate´ they have seemed to revive the 90´s for a bit. Provided with riffs who capture you from the very first moment followed by strong hooks and catchy choruses. When it comes to singing you clearly notice that Anttoni is influenced by Layne Staley and many times you hear the typical harmonies which Alice In Chains was known for. I have to mention that Staley and Cantrell´s level is quite a bit higher but despite that I really like that approach. The band also possesses a certain melancholy which reminded me of Soundgarden.
Despite allot of great moments this record never really seem to reach that level of before mentioned bands. Maybe I need to give ´Between This And Hate´ some more time, because it could really grow on me. In the end this record really is one that I would recommend to fans of the bands that were active in the Seatlle scene of the late 80´s and early 90´s.
