Wilco : Every now and then you run into acts who choose their name without real consideration, often it is too far-fetched. Engraved Dissillusion is an example. It is far from catchy and you wonder what they actually mean by the name. Fortunately, these British are a lot better at making music than at making up band names. ‘The Eternal Rest’ is the second album of the band, the first is unknown to me. They play a form of modern metal with grunts, break downs, clear vocals etc. In many ways comparable to more famous acts like All That Remains and Kill The Romance. I cannot say that this band really delivers lower quality than the mentioned bands. The clear vocals sometimes sound a little whiny ('No Tomorrow'), but otherwise this modern metal is actually fine. The sound is very good and all the songs are entertaining and distinctive. The melodies are catchy and melodic guitar work certainly deserves special attention. The influences of Maiden are therefore evident. Honestly, I like it more aggressive, but this has become a quite nice album. If you like the acts that I mentioned, I would definitely give this a chance.
