Marcel H. : Dutch instrumental music. Then you’re sure that the accent of the vocalist’s vocals won’t put you off. So, a smart move by this band from Amsterdam to play it all instrumentally. But having no vocals also means the listener might get bored more easily due to having less to go by. Sturp, however, manages to captivate for the entire duration of the album with their reasonably technical intricate music which more than once leans towards grindcore and at other times also reminds me of mathcore bands such as Dillinger Escape Plan but at the same time is progressive and alternative. A really good mix of styles is poured over you. Anyone liking a challenge, should check out Sturp.
