Marcel H. : Just a guitar player and a drummer. Usually that means just one thing, sludge to be more exact. And, yes, that is the case here. The German-Turkish band Mantar plays some vile sludge where you don’t miss the bass for a single second. It rages, it’s like a top brand vacuum cleaner, it rocks. What more do you want? Variation, maybe? Yes, that would go a long way. It now comes across quite monotonous. Well executed but from time to time quite boring due to the lack of variation. This really is such a band that will go down well with your average Roadburn visitor. Live I am sure it will go down well. Jump on the stage and let’s rage with the two of them. Hopefully there will be more variation on a next album and then I am in for them as well. Up to that moment I will be sitting cowardly on the fence.
