Roel de Haan : The French of Strynn introduce themselves with an album called 'Decadence'. Strynn plays rather melodic black metal despite their nationality there is nothing avant-garde, nihilistic or ultra-misanthropic about this about. Not that it is a bad record, far from it, but there also isn't whole lot present that sets them apart from the slew of black metal band playing this Scandinavian style. We can hear some Satyricon and Dissection influences, which makes for a comfortable listen, but not a very original one too. I'm afraid that 'Decadence' turned out a bit too much of a middle of the road affair in order to gain attention the masses.
