Evil Dr. Smith : It's been twee years since Cathedral called its quits. They promised there will be a last album, and here it is. It's already recorded in 2011 and 2012, and it won't get the promotional tour support (three of the Cathedral lads founded Septic Tank, which will make its stage debut next May). The album is quite different from the previous releases as The Guessing Game'. (Almost) gone are the seventies prog influences, and it's like a return to their most sluggish and doomish debut 'Forest of Equilibrium'. The sound especially made me think of their album 'Endtyme': another Spartan, slow, heavy and simplistic sounding album. No mercy, no frivolous elements, and no humour or fun. It's raw, bold and desolate, with Lee Dorrian singing as false as ever. Still, I'm gonna miss him. Thanks for the more that twenty years, the ten studio albums, and the beautiful artwork, guys: it's been a pleasure! Good luck with Septic Tank.
