Ramon : You would probably not expect a band that carries the name Deathmarched and that releases an album with a title like 'Spearhead Of Iron' could be very distinctive, among other death metal bands. And they don't. Especially given the fact that they are from Finland, it is remarkable to see them try and recreate what others have done for the last 25 years or so. And they don't even pick out the highlights of their inspirations, but they mainly focus on the cliches. Having said that, it is a horny as hell genre to draw from and in itself there's nothing wrong with a suiting homage. But still that's reason for me not to spend much words more on it. It is a debut which I got to digest on numerous occasions and probably will do so a lot more. Deathmarched uses eleven songs to spotlight the same over-chewed topic again and again. Very middle-of-the-road, but still good fun to listen to. Nothing wrong with their execution.
