Divine Ascension - As The Truth Appears

Label : Nightmare | Archive under prog / sympho metal

Release type: Full-length CD

Winston : Australia's music is commonly represented with the pure and raw rock of bands such as AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Airbourne. But of course there's more to enjoy down under and 'As The Truth Appears' by the band Divine Ascension makes that very clear to the world. Heavy as Epica and Nightwish, proggy like the early Queensr├┐che but also gothic light flavoured with a Lacuna Coil and our own Delain kind of feel. No opera vocals here fortunately; Jennifer Borg has a warm and nice voice and gives everything she has to offer. With the five men behind her Divine Ascension serves up a fine hour of good quality which to my recollection is the first for me in this particular style from Australia. 'Vision Divine', 'Garden Of Evil' and 'Visionary' are great examples and you should check it out, even if this time of releases is insanely busy for us prog rockers.
