Cor : Sweden is the land of origin of many rawk 'n' roll bands, who keep the legacy of MC5, The Stooges, and others like them very much alive. Also in this line you can place Rawhide; energetic garage punk rock 'n' roll is fired at the listener, hitting target as a raging thunderstorm. One can easily draw lines towards early Hellacopters, Turbonegro, Zeke or Motörhead. Bands like Turbonegro and Zeke also have some elements of hardcore in their music, but Rawhide might even go further; especially the vocals seem to contain more aggression in the raw energy, and the production is almost demo-like off-hand (something that does have its charm in this case). The four tracks presented may not be representative for what the band has to offer, but personally I think this raging anger is limiting the variation in the material, despite some nice found arrangements and good work on guitar. Slightly less screaming at times, like some former work, would be appreciated even more.
