Frank D. : Just picture Rancid, Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys teaming up for an album. Difficult? Well, just buy 'Come All You Madmen' of The Briggs and you get a good estimated guess.
The album opens with the Molly-like 'Mad Men'. This track immediately sticks into my brain like a maggot. And when The Briggs' answer to Murphys 'Boston' hits the stage ('This Is LA') I know for sure, this is by far the best of the gents up to this point in time. With an almost careless ease the bands mixes East Coast punk with Boston's dark blue-collar punk. Sometimes folky, sometimes twin vocals, sometimes quick and aggressive, The Briggs will convince friend or foe with this little gem. If you're into good old-fashioned punk with a twist, this is what the doctor ordered for sure.
