Frank D. : Let me start by saying, that I'm not a huge fan of Wednesday 13. Different from what people expect, the endeavours of Joseph Poole don't get me up and running. Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, Murderdolls, solo, it's all just too mediocre and superficial for me. So I'm not really raving when I press play.
And yes, Wednesday 13 doesn't take us in a different direction. He just picks up where he left off with 'Fang Bang'. YAWN. This is the "love it or leave it" kind of music. It's my job, but loving it? I'm on the brink of calling it a day, when 'My Demise' hits the stage. The mellow and personal track raises my eyebrow. Hmmm. And when 'No Rabbit In The Hat' kicks in, I have to think of Ministry. Ok, it's not as industrial, but the intensity and the lyrics remind me of Al Jourgensen. And with that Wednesday 13 remarkably comes up with an album that I like. Of course, I have to work through the 100% Wednesday tracks like 'Scream Baby Scream' and 'Gimmie, Gimmie, Bloodshed' but there's some compensation. Rapping the thing up: this could well be the finest hour of Joseph. So I tip my hat, well done indeed.
