Erik : After visiting the site of this band, it all became clear to me: this is a band that combines art, strong efficient design, mysterious photography and the 'less is more'-attitude with a strong commitment in band philosophy to a musical art form that not many bands achieve. The instrumental stoner metal of Sons Of Alpha Centauri is just one aspect of this UK quartet. Surely the Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Karma To Burn and other desert stoner metal bands are abundant, but emotion and feelings are more than important too. This is a musical voyage that is perfectly pictured on the named site. I am always a bit on my toes when reviewing an instrumental band, but this band as a whole is very appealing. The songs are numbered in the timeframe they were composed in, and the band had already thirty-five songs ready when recording their debut CD. The song titles are: 2 - 14 - 15 - 26 - 23 - 25 - 28 - 21 - 9 - 31 - 8 -34. Obviously I think of a secret code, but the site (again!) reveals the titles given to these numbers. Full sound is guaranteed by master brain James Plotkin and the artwork on the CD is by the hand of Seldon Hunt, both geniuses in their field! Remarkable band which we have to keep an eye on!
