Sjoerd : Dear Mr. Tate,
I have planned to write to you for a long time, to say thanks, and congratulate you with your brilliant work with Queensryche. Especially after the release of "Live Evolution” my respect and gratitude had grown more and more. My gratefulness got almost to a form of rabies when I got your solo CD from my head editor. I took a cigarette, a big beer and lay down to listen to all the great songs I expected on this album and turned up the amp to a volume which drives my neighbours insane.
Well, the neighbours got insane, that is for sure, the lady next-door screamed through the wall "Is this the same guy who is shouting "Empire” over and over again?” Yep I said it is the same, even though I could hardly believe it myself. The voice sounds really familiar, but the songs sound like a bad Celine Dion composition, this is not real, this cannot be true……………….. but sadly enough it is true, this is Geoff Tate my hero, friend in rotten times.
After listening to this album I put "Q2K” in my CD players and after that "Operation Mindcrime” to get back on earth, and to become friends again. At the beginning I wrote "Mr Tate” on purpose. If your next solo project will have the same quality as your Queensryche albums, and not this kind of weak compositions, I write again and than I will start with: "Dear Geoff”, and maybe add 'welcome back'…
