Saratan - The Cult Of Vermin

Label : Eigen beheer | Archive under speed / thrash metal

Release type: Full-length CD

Nima : Poland's Saratan (Persian/Arabian word for "cancer”) released its debut album 'Cult Of The Vermin' recently and to promote the album, they have made four tracks available for the press. What I don't understand is how they think only one third of the album should be enough to form an opinion about the whole, but nevermind.

After hearing the four songs of this promo I can only thank the guys for not letting me hear the whole album. The thrash metal that these gentlemen play is generally mid-tempo with many breaks and is mostly inspired by the modern thrash(core). I assume that they have chosen the best songs of the album for promotion and I'm sorry to say this, but if these songs belong to the better material, I wonder how bad the rest must sound. The songs are so uninspired that I wonder if I was even able to listen to all eleven. The fast riffing, razor sharp solos and aggressive vocals that make thrash so special for me are apparently not meant for this band.

Sorry guys, but this doesn't do anything for me. And rating the album based on only four songs is a bit inappropriate. Thrashers can better spend their money on bands like Hellish Crossfire and Evile, who came up with killer-releases this month.
