First of all, congratulations on the release of ‘Words Of The Master (Proverbs Of Hell)’ which in my opinion is a very decent piece of work, how are the responses on the album so far?
HELL-o Johan. At first I would like to thank you for your interest and good review of our album ‘Words of The Master’! This album brings a very positive feedback to us. And it is fine because now we have new contacts, new opportunities. All is good for us now.
It is the first album written completely in English that is quite a change. How did you come to that decision? Can I safely assume it had something to do with the fact that most of the lyrics where written by Bestial Mockery’s Master?
Exactly. The main reason is that Master wrote it in English at first. We wanted to translate it to Czech language but it wasn´t possible. Some words (their meanings) could not reach the impression which they deserve. So after some time we decided for English language for new Sekhmet era. And I think that it wasn´t a mistake. I would like to say thanks for a help to Master by Bestial Mockery.
After ten years and three albums recorded in Czech, will this mark a completely new era? Will future releases be recorded in which ever language suits the moment or was this a one-time event?
I don´t know now. I can tell you that now we are preparing one song for split with Winselland. This song will be in English again. But this song was prepared for new album also, but we have run out of time to record it. So we want to use it now. But what will be in the future, I don´t know. The assumptions are lyrics in English but our vocalist Lord Aegir will write them.
And last but not least, is there a particular reason why you end all albums with a cover?
Hahaha, everyone asks this question. We are proud of these bands. These bands had some influence on our younger years. There is no special reason. We give them honor. Sekhmet did covers of more bands than Darkthrone, as some people thought. There were Carpathian Forest, Marduk, Dissection, Immortal, Urgehal etc.
Are there currently any tours or concerts planned after this release?
Yes of course. We will be at summer festivals next year. It is perfect! But important is that now we are planning fourteen days tour for year 2014. In this time Sekhmet is booked in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and I must say that all sounds well concerning the Tour 2014. We will be on the road with Czech UGBM band Kraake. And I hope that after your review and interview we will have the possibility to play some gigs in Benelux, because it is a good promotion J
Thank you for your time, is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?
Stay true and in the underground. Underground resistance!
