Name: Remie Stronks
This journalist is no longer part of the Lords of Metal team.
Since the discovery of Metallicas 'Ride the Lightning' Remie was hooked on the loud music that we call metal. He wanted to know if there were more bands playing this loud kind of music and started a journey of musical discovery. The largest discoveries from that date until today are: Opeth, Karnivool, Meshuggah, Mastodon, Zero Hour, Textures, Periphery, In Flames, Dream Theater, Ayreon, Symphony X, Gojira, Nevermore, Pantera, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. Actually there is too much to mention in this for him.
Besides that has a love for a great number of bands which might not be regarded as metal but still worth mentioning among the likes of Tool, Soundgarden, Oceansize, Red Fang and Queens of the Stone age. Heavy, prog, trash, death, black, post, stoner, sludge, power, alternative, grunge and triphop. You might already notice, allot of musical satisfaction. However most bands he loves have a melancholic feel in their sound. From afore mentioned bands he draw allot of inspiration and decided to pick up the guitar himself and is working on some music from time to time.
If you would like to chat about guitar gear then he is the perfect guy. But caution! He can become quite a driveller in that case.
Besides music he has a large passion for photography and is never travelling without a camera. he specializes in live photography, urbex and land/cityscape.
If there are any dislikes for him to mention. Put on Gunsn Roses or some emo/screamo and youll catch him in a grumpy mood. Quite possible is that he starts ranting about it.
He loves to analyze music and started in July 2014 at LoM where he found the perfect spot to give his analyses shape and present it to you.
