Nima

I still remember it well. It was somewhere in 1989 when I first saw the video for Alice Cooper’s ‘Poison’ and I was sold immediately. I was eight years old at that moment. Thanks to my cousin I got to know bands like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses and Kiss.

In the years that followed I got to know more and more heavy bands like Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Slayer, W.A.S.P. and when I heard Manowar for the first time in 1994 my life changed. More brutal music like death, thrash and especially black metal also made my metal heart beat faster. Around 1994 I started reading more and more national and international metal magazines like Aardschok, Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I didn’t always agree with the writers though. I always have a strong opinion about many things and it seemed a nice idea to be able to make that opinion public.

In 2003 I made acquaintance with a guy called Ferdi who was an employee of the LoM. During a gig he asked me to write a review about the show and I did. After a few other live reviews I enjoyed writing more and more. At the Waldrock festival 2005 I met ‘The Big Boss’ Horst and we agreed to make arrangements for reviews through Horst himself in the future. Referring to a review and an interview, I received an email with the announcement that I was allowed to join the LoM-team. A big smile on my ugly face and the word ‘damn’ was the first reaction. Now I finally know how hard it is to judge an album/band. A product is a result of time, energy, sweat and tears and it’s hard to write a bad review about an album/band. But the truth must be said anyway. Music is expensive and the fans have the write to know how to spend their hard earned money.

I’m not going to bore you with my bullshit any longer and hope to be at your service.

For those about to rock, I salute you.

Hail And Kill
